It is organized as follows: first, a review of theories and techniques in this regard, which no doubt vary a lot, is undertaken. Thereafter, it takes stock of some solid empirical research on this topic despite the fact that it is not easy to do empirics in terms of identifying the dependent variables directly/indirectly. In the process, we examine what is meditation, the various types of meditation, the western and Indian approaches to meditation, and the perceived as also expected impact of meditation in general and on sports performance. The paper ends, safely, with a mix of scientism as also mysticism, with the conclusion that sports and meditation can indeed be combined, and combined very well. | Keywords : | | - meditation
