For achieving the purpose of the study total of 30 subjects were selected as samples from two Tennis academics from Chennai city. Their age ranges between 15 to 22 years and the selected subjects were divided in to two groups equally with 15 each as control and experimental group. All the selected subjects were state or national ranked players and all of them were used to practice tennis for the duration of two hours every day except Mondays and apart from the tennis practice the experimental group underwent yogic and relaxation training for six weeks in a schedule of weekly three days yogic practices and three days deep muscle relaxation training in alternative days for one hour. To find out significant difference ANCOVA was used as a statistical tool. The statistical findings of the study revealed that the experimental group significantly improved the selected psychological variables of stress, mental toughness and sports competition anxiety due to yoga and deep muscle relaxation training. | Keywords : | | - mental toughness, yogic practice, stress and anxiety.
