Abstract :
The purpose of the study was to compare the aerobic and anaerobic capacity of female players of individual sports. For the purpose of the study thirty (30) female students who are pursuing Bachelor of Physical Education course from Department of Physical Education, Sitapur Shiksha Sansthan, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh who had participated in different National as well as State level tournaments were randomly selected as the subject for this study. The subject age was ranged between 18 to 25 years. All the subjects were residents of the hostel and regularly participated in all activity classes of their course and all were physically fit and thus were capable to performing the tests efficiently. The necessary data of aerobic and anaerobic capacity were collected at the time of match practice sessions. The data of aerobic and anaerobic capacity were collected with the help of 600 yard run/walk test and 50 metre dash test. In order to find out the aerobic and anaerobic capacity of female players of individual sports, “One Way Analysis of Variance” (ANOVA) was applied and the level of significance was set at 0.05. The study reveals that there was no significant difference found in aerobic and anaerobic capacity of male players of individual sports.
